design Taniguchi Yoshio design institute structure steal-framed ferroconcrete a basement, 4 floors building area 3,603.92u total floor space 8,000.04u completed on 20. June 1991 |
Genichiro Inokuma recommended Yoshio Taniguchi for the design of this museum under his
idea, "the museum shuld be an art, which
has to be suited its' concept. " Taniguchi
took in charge of this plan.
Inokuma and Taniguchi desined on their dialogue exept the basic
administration shown by Marugame city.
Althogh it seems a difficult way to design the museum by an artist and
an architect togather, the artist spoke the minimam, on the other hand,
the architect looked for the space which makes the best use of the artist's
idea and works.
The completed space could have been prominent when the art works shown
in it. It means both of works and museum not to asset themselves but set
off to advantage each other.
The dialogue between the artist and the architect began from the relation
between the works and the display space, large objects and the building,
original mark designing to furniture selection.
Thus this museum became an art colaborated by an artist and an architect
as the artist had hoped.
