The special exhibition “Sudo Reiko: Making NUNO Textiles” was held at Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art (MIMOCA) from Sunday, October 8 to Sunday, December 10, 2023. This exhibition was originally organized and held at CHAT (Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile) in Hong Kong in 2019. After touring Europe, it had its fifth opening at MIMOCA. Although a traveling exhibition, it featured two new works by Sudo viewable only in Marugame, when staged at the MIMOCA venue. In this writing, I will introduce one of them, 80 Faces.

Let’s Make a Map,” followed by a tour on September 17 (Sunday), titled “A Children’s Guided Tour.” This report covers this series of events.

In the animation "Before MIMOCA" Ryo Inoue confronts the conundrum of how to spend time in an art museum, and offers his answer, as an artist. Since its debut on YouTube this video has been watched and enjoyed by thousands of people, of all ages. A year on from the release of "Before MIMOCA," its creator reflected on the process behind its production, on art museums, and on Genichiro Inokuma.

Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art (MIMOCA) held a workshop on August 9 (Wednesday), August 10 (Thursday), August 12 (Saturday), and August 13 (Sunday) titled “Choose and Mix ☆ MIMOCA Tin Badges!” Over these four days, a total of 639 participants of all ages, from children to adults, took part in the workshop. Koji Nakazono: Soulmate opened at the Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art (MIMOCA) on Saturday 17 June 2023, and had run to Monday 18 September. As part of the exhibition program, a talk titled “Gentle Ghost: In Pursuit of the Painter Koji Nakazono” was held on Sunday 20 August to mark the publication of a critical biography of the artist.
